The web site for the scientific journal Simulation & Gaming reports that an article authored by 3 ISU researchers was the most frequently read article on their site in October, 2009.
Iowa State University graduate student Christopher Barlett was the lead author on the article, titled "Video Game Effects - Confirmed, Suspected, and Speculative: A Review of the Evidence." Dr. Craig A. Anderson, Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for the Study of Violence, as well as ISU graduate student Edward Swing were co-authors. All are in the Department of Psychology.
Dr. David Vogel was named Fellow in the American Psychological Association Division 51 (men and Masculinity).
Dr. Craig Anderson, faculty member in the Department of Psychology has been named one of three APA 2010 Distinguished Scientist Lecturers. Dr. Anderson will be giving the address at the New England Psychological Association meeting in October, 2010. This is the first time anyone from ISU has received this award. The Fritz and Linn Kuder Early Career Scientist/Practitioner Award, Society of Counseling Psychology (Division 17), American Psychological Association, 2009.
Dr. Meifen Wei also received the following Departmental Award: Excellence in Education and Promotion of Cultural Diversity, Department of Psychology, Iowa State University, 2009.
