A bit of history…
In 1999, the Iowa State University Psych Club began a tradition of bringing together agencies of the Ames community in the annual Social Services Volunteer Fair. The event was intended to provide students volunteer and internship opportunities.  Within a few years, the Psych Club was joined by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Career Services, the 10,000 Hours Show, and the College of Human Sciences as co-sponsors.  In 2012, the decision was made to return this event to the student organizations of Psych Club and 10,000 Hours Show as co-sponsors.

The Psych Club is comprised of all active Psych majors and minors at Iowa State University.  This student run club promotes interation among Psych majors and faculty, opportunities for hands-on leadership, community service projects, and involvement in VEISHEA village.

The 10,000 Hours Show (10K) is a student organization on Iowa State's campus working to promote volunteerism and celebrate those who get involved in service especially high school students, young adults and early professionals.  Each year they host an event to celebrate Story County volunteers with live music, food and prizes.  It is an organization that helps promote volunteerism in every generation.
