Research Interests:
My research interests are focused on Latino/a psychology, especially with respect to Latino/as' adaptation to higher education settings, racial identity issues, and mental/physical health. I conduct research in these areas through the Laboratory for Latino/a Psychology in the ISU Psychology Department.
I also hold the position of Director of the ISU US Latino/a Studies Program (USLS) in the Center for American Intercultural Studies. The USLS is devoted to the study of Mexican Americans, Puerto Rican Americans, Cuban Americans, US Central & South Americans, Dominican Americans and other groups of people living in the United States who trace their ancestry to the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America.
