Private Home Folders

Private Home Folders

All Psychology faculty, staff, and instructors can have a folder on the Department of Psychology file server that can be used to store Department related materials.

If you need a private home folder created for you, please contact the Psychology IT Specialist.

How to access your private home folder on the Psychology file server

For all of the following instructions please note the following:

  • "NetID" is your ISU Net-ID.  This is the same as your ISU e-mail address before the @ sign.
  • "NetID Password" is your ISU Net-ID password.  This is the same password you use when you check your ISU e-mail.
  • Access to your public folder can only be done through an on-campus computer or through a computer that is connected to the ISU VPN.

  1. Open the "Start" menu.
  2. Click on "Run...".
  3. Type in "\\huxley\home\NetID".

  2. Next to "Password" type in your ISU NetID password
  3. OPTIONAL: You can check "Remember my password" so that you will not be prompted for a password when you reconnect to your user folder. WARNING: Do not use this on a shared computer such as in a computer lab.
