The Young Investigators (YI) program -
The 2010 YI program intends to encourage and help people who are beginning their careers in aggression research. Building on the great success of the 2008 Budapest meeting, the YI program includes:
  • Pre-meeting workshop to facilitate career development by interaction with senior researchers, with suggestions for scientific accomplishment and professional advancement
  • Planned (but informal) interactions with a panel of mentors during the course of the meeting
  • Networking with other young investigators and members of ISRA
  • Stipends for travel and meeting expenses (on an as-needed basis)
We encourage graduate students, Postdoctoral Fellows and junior faculty within 3 years of their Graduate degree to apply. Please submit:
  • A scientific abstract for presentation
  • A curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A 250-word statement summarizing your research interests and how participating in the YI program would advance your professional development
Students should include a student verification letter from their advisor. We will choose participants based on the originality and promise of their work in human or animal, observational, experimental or theoretical analyses of aggression. The submission deadline for the YI program is April 1. All submissions, including questions regarding the YI program, should include the phrase "Young Investigator Program" in the subject line and be submitted to Dr. Michael Potegal at poteg001@umn.edu. A copy of these guidelines may be downloaded from our website on the Abstract and Symposia Submission page, or by clicking here.

Lagerspetz Awards -
In honor of Kirsti Lagerspetz, ISRA co-founder and contributor to aggression research, the Lagerspetz awards are given to students, Postdoctoral Fellows and junior faculty for excellent presentations at the World Conference. No application is necessary; simply submit an abstract, show up and do your best presentation!
